Ayia Thekla is about 7klm along the coast road from Ayia Napa, about 10 minutes by car. The Ayia Thekla area is known generally for it's stunning coastline and beautiful sandy beaches. The coastline is a combination of small sandy bays inserted within rocky outcrops. The absence of any hotels in the vicinity maintains the charm of this wondeful location.
Ayia Thekla has a stunning beach that is second to none. The beach is suitable for families with young children and couples alike. Located on the beach is an outstanding family run restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and evening meals. There is also water sports equipment available (jet ski, banana boat, paddle boats) for rent should you be feeling a little more adventurous.
The church of Ayia Thekla is one of the oldest spots in the area dating back to the middle ages. It sits in a peaceful setting, fronted by the beautiful turquoise Mediterranean Sea and surrounded by natural flora. Legend has it that the church over the centuries has suffered severe damage caused by the many armies that conquered the island through time.
The church in its present condition dates back to the beginning of the last century. A small sandy beach also lies here with a tiny island just of the shore that keeps the waves at bay. The nearest municipality to visit is Paralimni which is a medium sized town approximately 10 kilometres inland. Here you will find a busy metropolis lined with an abundance of shops, restaurants and supermarkets. To get there you can take the local bus service that runs every 30 minutes, or by taxi/hire car.
The local bar, restaurant and supermarket are a 10 minute stroll along the coast road from the villa. The supermarket has all the items you will need for your holiday. You can also buy extra top up cards for the villa mobile phone if required. The bar and restaurant offer a good menu and excellent value for money.
